Hamdan approves DHA structure

The operational structure of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has been approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

The structure has been designed to take into account the current and future healthcare needs of the emirate.

"The DHA will continue to work to develop policies, regulations and legislation relating to the health sector so that we can promote an environment of health and safety for the people of Dubai and visitors alike," said Director-General Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid.

"In addition to developing operational plans for public health and safety, DHA will work to develop and modernise legislation relating to the health sector in Dubai.

"The structure will also focus on laying the foundations and establishing criteria for implementing and managing the health information system as well as attracting foreign investment and promoting medical tourism.

"It is our aim to ensure that Dubai's health sector occupies a prominent position in this region and the world."

Under the plan, the CEO of the Health Policy and Strategy Sector, the director of the Department of Governance and Internal Audit, the Council of CEOs, the director of Health Funding, Health Regulation and Medical Education and the director of Institutional Media and Communication will report directly to Al Murooshid.

The director of Public Health and Safety, the director of Clinical Audit, the director of Policy and Strategy and the director of the Health Data and Information Analysis Department will directly report to the CEO of Health Policy and Strategy, who will in turn report to the director-general.

The Council of CEOs will directly report to the Director General. The council will consist of the CEO of the Hospital Services Sector, the CEO of the Clinical Support Services Sector, the CEO of the Primary Healthcare Sector and the CEO of the Institutional Support Services Sector.
