The Ministry of Health has issued a circular to directors of medical departments and private medical facilities setting the regulations to be followed when checking suspected H1N1 cases in private hospitals, according to a senior official.
Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Executive Director of Medical Practices and Licensing Affairs, also said the circular stipulates that the "rapid test" should not be used in the implementation of norms set by the WHO. It is also not part of the recommendations made by the technical committee, which is an offshoot of the Higher Supervisory Committee for combating H1N1.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the Eid holiday, and under its nationwide awareness campaign against H1N1, the ministry advised the public to avoid big gathering and to take all precautionary measures.
