Four new healthcare centres will be opened soon in Sharjah, one each in Qarain, Nazwa, Batayeh and Khorfakkan.

This was announced by the Director of Sharjah Medical Zone Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi during a dialogue with the medical committee affiliated with the Sharjah Consultative Council.

Sheikh Al Qasimi noted that currently there are 17 healthcare centres in the emirate.

These centres, among which 11 are in the remote areas, at present cater to about 95 per cent of the population.

He also said that the future healthcare strategy will focus on treating 90 per cent of cases at the healthcare centres spread across the emirate and only 10 per cent will be referred to the hospitals.
