RTA and Google join hands to map bus stops

The Roads & Transport Authority has teamed up with Google to upload information on Dubai's public bus stops through the latter's Google Earth platform.

The move will enable public bus users in the emirate visiting Google Earth portal to check this information at any time and from any place. The RTA said that the move came after its Planning & Business Development and Information Technology had collaborated with Google.

"The latest RTA step will enable users to view the information, including the routes passing through these stops. They can also return to RTA portal to obtain more information about the bus routes by checking the link to RTA website displayed on Google Earth," said Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashemi, Acting CEO of Public Transport Agency and Director of Business Development at RTA.

Google Transit is an exclusive term that illustrates the integration between RTA and Google.
