Bourses rally in new year
The first session of the year 2010 on Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) yesterday witnessed an encouraging and positive buying across the board as investors, institutions turned keen on taking positions in select scrips.
Mirroring the buoyant mood of the market, the DFMGI added 62.01 points to close the session at 1865.59 points registering a net gain of 3.44 per cent as against the previous close of 1803.58 points.
After vacation, foreign investors and fund managers are coming back to trading. This is also one of the reasons why the market is buoyant.
Poperty, telecom, energy and construction shares pushed the ADX higher yesterday.
