The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has signed up for the Rosoom online payment service operated by Dubai Trade.

This will enable DMCC members to make use of the various transaction options available on the platform.

In addition they will be able to access Rosoom to top up their e-deposit accounts. This feature will allow them to pay online for services such as visas, official letters and health cards online.

Rosoom, a centralised e-payment gateway available at www.dubaitrade.ae, offers a wide range of electronic payment services to enable customers to make online transactions with leading commercial establishments such as DP World and Economic Zones World. Dubai Trade, an online service provider, is part of Dubai World.

"We are pleased to have DMCC on Rosoom," said Dubai Trade Director Mahmood Al Bastaki. "This opens up a very useful service to the large number of DMCC members who are major players in Dubai's commodities business.

"Rosoom is one of Dubai Trade's highly successful and most popular initiatives and brings customers closer to leading entities such as the port and the free zone."

Dr David Rutledge, CEO of DMCC, said: "The integration with Rosoom marks a significant step in DMCC's continuing efforts to provide fast and efficient services to our customers.

"Dubai Trade hosts more than 50 DMCC counter services, providing members with a robust platform so they can easily perform and pay for services online.

"Dubai Trade's continuous growth and innovation leaves us in no doubt that our customer will benefit from the rich pool of features offered."

Rosoom enables the real-time transfer of funds from a customers' bank account to an organisation's account for the settlement of bills.

The system was launched in March 2008 and facilitated 162,000 transactions worth a total of Dh135 million in a year.

Dubai Trade's integrated electronic payment solutions cover the entire supply chain and bring together into a single community all the companies that interact with Dubai's ports, customs and the free zone for the purposes of trade.
