Foreign investors net buyers on Dubai market

Foreign investors continued to be net buyers on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) last week, buying Dh33.5 million worth more of shares than they sold, the bourse said in a statement yesterday.

The value of shares bought by foreign investors, or non-UAE nationals, during the week ended December 31 reached Dh360.472m comprising 37.68 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period.

The value of stocks sold by foreign investors during the same period reached Dh326.965m comprising 34.18 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period. Net foreign investment on the market reached Dh33.507m during the same period, as aggregate buy, DFM said.

The value of stocks bought by institutional investors last week reached Dh143.039m comprising 14.95 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period.

The value of stocks sold by institutional investors during the period reached Dh148.909m, which constitutes 15.57 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period.

Net institutional investment on the market reached Dh5.871m during the period, as aggregate sell, DFM said.
