The Abu Dhabi Centre for Housing and Services Facility Development (ADCHS) has closed the counter for issuing applications yesterday for a 2010 marketing and communications services tender.

The newly-established centre is seeking to develop its comprehensive spectrum of marketing and communications activities, said Shama Al Amiri, Media Office at the centre. The deadline for submitting the bids will be Sunday, January 31.

The tender covers all the aspects of the communication plan, including advertising, marketing and public relations for 2010.

Al Amiri explained to Emirates Business that the centre is in a stage of setting up a communications strategy, having just started operation in August 2009.

The tender is expected to attract pitches from agencies across the UAE who have trading licenses in Abu Dhabi, with the results to be out in February. Abu Dhabi has become a major potential market for most media and communications agencies, in addition to Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The government in particular has become more aggressive in the past year in terms of communications, leading more agencies to launch permanent offices in the capital. Government spend has maintained a leading position for the past four quarters according to the Pan Arab Research Centre, with a 26 per cent share of the $1.466 billion (Dh5.38bn) UAE market.
