DMI first in ME to get new ISO
Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has obtained ISO 27001, which is the certification of information security management system (ISMS). The certification is the highest standard for information quality, security and protection at the international level. DMI has become the first media institution in Middle East to obtain it and ended a European domination.
"The new achievement is in line with the effort given by DMI to technical aspect, in general, and interaction with the principles of information revolution and influx to save the information safely and prevent it to be exploited illegally, in particular," said a statement.
The certification of ISMS joins a series of certifications obtained by DMI which won Arab and international awards recently.
Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, DMI's Managing Director and Director-General, received the new certification from Brian Baxter of Lioyd's Register Quality Assurance. Al Shaikh expressed his happiness on DMI's obtaining the certification. He said the winning of international certifications, in general, and ISO certifications, in particular, is one of performance measurement rates that are related to an institution whose activity exceeded regional dimension.
