Dubai Press Club (DPC) yesterday announced a bouquet of services and facilities would be launched as part of a special membership campaign in March.
Maryam Bin Fahad, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club, said: "This initiative comes as part of the Press Club's new strategy, which was put in place on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. The Press Club was established in November 1999 under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai."
Bin Fahad pointed out that the Press Club delegation that recently toured several Arab capitals and local media organisations heard views and recommendations of media persons. As per their suggestions, the new membership package has been developed in line with journalists' professional requirements in the changed circumstances so as to serve them better, she added.
Adel Ibrahim, Senior Operations Manager, said: "The new membership package will include unprecedented and excellent services and privileges. The package is designed to accommodate the entire journalist fraternity across platforms including audio-visual and print media, media students and teachers, public relations firms and media consultancies. The package is supported by about 100 business firms in the UAE."
Ibrahim urged UAE organisations to take advantage of the new package. "It is a rare opportunity for them to connect with the media fraternity in the region. The Press Club will try to function as a connecting link between the media and other spheres of life in the Arab region," he added.
Ibrahim also said that the new package would be launched at a special event in March which would be open to all journalists at the Press Club premises. "The details of the new package will be unveiled at the event and I would like to assure that it would be the best membership package for journalists in the entire Arab world," he added.
