Flip Media rolls out new office

Capitalising on the growing relevance of digital media and online social networks, Flip Media announced the launch of its ninth office worldwide, in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

The expansion was a further step to develop and deepen relationships with long-term business partners already established in Abu Dhabi, said Yousef Tuqan Tuqan, CEO of Flip Media.

Flip Media said it hoped to get more clients to believe in the importance of technology and showed a positive outlook for 2010, despite its last year's declined revenue.

"We already have long-term business relations in Abu Dhabi, and I believe that the opportunities are growing bigger with Abu Dhabi and many of the companies there finding their voice', said Tuqan.

"Since 2005, Flip Media has played an integral role in shaping the digital strategies of some of Abu Dhabi's most iconic brands including Mubadala, Sorouh and twofour54", he said.

The company has been conducting seminars for relevant partners on digital marketing to develop awareness and help companies better understand the importance of social networking and online communications.

However, despite the positive signs for the growth of online and digital communications, Flip Media was also affected by the crisis. Tuqan said: "It is difficult to talk about growth, because it has varied widely since 2000. Of course we have been affected in 2009 like all other players in the market, but we still managed to make profit despite the decline in revenues.

"We let go less than 10 per cent of our staff last year, and we are looking to hire more people this year for the Abu Dhabi office".

Tuqan noted that telecom firms saw growth in terms of presence online.

Founded in 2003, Flip has become a leader in the sector.
