The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is showcasing a range of food products and culinary talent at the Gulfood 2009 exhibition.
Fourteen leading food companies from Japan unveile their rich range of local food products sourced from various regions of the country.
"Our strong presence at this year's exhibition will allow Dubai foodies and the domestic hotel industry to experience genuine agricultural and marine products and foods from Japan," said Hiroshi Inoue of Kintetsu World Express, a spokesman of the Japan National Pavilion on behalf of the ministry.
"On all four days of the exhibition, celebrated Japanese chef Sadakazu China of Kisaku Restaurant at Al Khaleej Hotel in Dubai would also be holding culinary demos for food enthusiasts at the venue," he added.
He said Japanese foods, including sushi, are enjoying a major revival.
