Online media has brought up another entertaining segment for its consumers with the launch of a new service called shofha.com by LINKonLINE, a subsidiary of LINKdotNET, in collaboration with the region's major movie producers.

The service allows anyone to watch latest movies and television series on shofha.com entertainment portal on the same day of its release internationally, and just after the removal of films from movie theatres in Egypt, which is a unique service allowing movie lovers to watch the latest Arabic movies from home, anywhere in the world.

This high-resolution service provides all Egyptian and Arab cinema lovers with movies and series that can be viewed through online streaming. Television series will also be available commercial free in both full series form and single episodes to suit all users' preferences. Five-minute episode highlights are also available for those on the move.

Shofha.com offers viewers all over the world a vast catalogue of movies and series, either on rental or purchase basis, which can be downloaded or watched online.

Karim Beshara, Chief Executive Officer of LINKdotNET, said: "This initiative is the first-of-its-kind in the region and was a natural progression for LINKonLINE after its positive music distribution experience, Mazika.com.

"Not only shofha.com is convenient to our customers but it benefits the production houses by providing movie lovers with a legal, easily-accessible and a competitively-priced platform, far better than pirated low-quality movie forums and sites."

LINKonLINE was founded in 2002 as a subsidiary of LINKdotNET and owns, manages and develops a wide range of online content and services. It caters to different customer needs in different sectors – MSN Arabia, MSN Maghreb, MSN Pakistan, Windows Live hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live search, Windows Live Spaces, Masrawy, Yallabina, Yallakora, Mazika, Career MidEast, Otlob and El3ab.

Ayman Abdel-Latif, General Manager of Microsoft Egypt, said: "We are always happy to participate in the unique solutions provided by LINKdotNET Gold Partner of Microsoft, which are solutions of high-quality and popularity. We are proud that the solution is depending on SilverLight from Microsoft. It is one of the best development platforms."
