The best decoration award was won by Abdelelah Farhoud for the same series. The UAE national scenarist Jamal Salem won the best scenario award for the Hath Ya Nasib series, which is produced by DMI and Sama Dubai channel. Foad Sulaiman won the best lighting award for the previous series.

The UAE won more awards through Abu Dhabi Media Company, Fujairah Culture and Media Authority and a Fujairah-based media company.

Ali Obaid, Vice-President of AMF's Panel and Studies Section at Al Bayan newspaper, said: "The UAE's participation was very strong and entered into a fierce competition with Arabic drama and won a lot of awards. The UAE had the potential to win more awards had it taken part in a number of competitions."

The UAE delegation to the Arab Media Festival was headed by Ahmad Al Shaikh, Managing Director of Dubai Media Incorporated and Media Escort of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Abdullatif Al Gergawi, General Manager of Dubai TV, said the UAE participation in the Arab Media Festival in Cairo underlined the keen interest among the UAE media professionals, on being actively aware of the Arab media landscape, and offering their expertise to develop the Arab media industry.

He said: "DMI has received a further confirmation of the success of its vision and choices, while constantly being dedicated to quality content and production, as this gold award presented to the DMI production Balqees has demonstrated".

Ahmed Al Mansouri, Manager of Sama Dubai, said: "The Arab Media Festival in Cairo is a great platform that attracts the artists and creative minds in the Arab World. The UAE's presence was strongly and expressively felt at this event through a number of quality productions. I expect the next edition of the Arab Media Festival to see an even bigger representation of the UAE, in terms of participating works as well as awards."
