Cityscape Dubai Day 1: Dh500bn

Shrugging off a slowdown in the property market, the largest business-to-business real estate investment and development event in the world, Cityscape, Dubai yesterday witnessed unveiling of more than half a trillion dirham worth of new projects in the UAE.

Dubai's Meraas Development launched the Dh350 billion Jumeirah Gardens project in Satwa. Zabeel Investments said it was planning a Dh5.5bn project in Dubai. Abu Dhabi-based Al Mabaar launched development plans worth Dh40.5bn.

On the eve of the expo, Nakheel unveiled Nakheel Harbour & Tower, which will house the world's tallest tower rising one kilometre, worth Dh140bn.

Dubai Sports City released the fifth and final building of its signature Mediterranean-style real estate development – Canal Residence West.

TSA Group launched a Dh8bn signature beachfront residential development Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard in Dana Island in Ras Al Khaimah. Solidere announced its Al Zorah Riviera, the first residential project at the Dh220bn Al Zorah City.
