The annual Dubai Shopping?Festival has turned many people into millionaires over the last 15 years – and this year looks no exception.
The event set to kick off a season of winning this weekend and a new big-ticket prize has been announced.
Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre have teamed up in a joint promotion to raffle off one big prize worth Dh2 million. The winner can choose from a Tuscan villa, a luxury sports car or a private yacht, organiser said yesterday. "This year's DSF prize is really going to be one to remember. It is the largest prize being offered by any mall this festival and will allow one lucky winner to totally upgrade their lifestyle," Fuad Al Najjar, Vice President at Deira City Centre, told Emirates Business.
He said the malls were always looking for creative ways to reward loyal customers during the annual retail event. "These events and promotions further enhance the shopping experience during DSF and add more value to some of the best discounts and bargains on offer by our retailers," he added.
To participate in this mega joint initiative, all shoppers need to do is spend Dh300 or more at any of the 800 stores across the two malls and enter a raffle draw.
Retailers in both malls will also be offering extensive discounts and bargains during the whole DSF period, in addition to a host of live entertainment.
A winner will be picked at the end of the festival. "Once a winner is selected and they advise which of the three prizes they wish to own, we will ensure the recipient receives the prize in the earliest possible time,"?Al Najjar said. "The time frame will vary depending on the prize. For instance, if they choose a luxury sports car, it will probably be a lot quicker than the time taken to source a villa in Tuscany."
Other prizes being given away over the course of the festival include a staggering Dh16 million in Lexus cars and cash.
The DSF?celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and the event runs from?January 28 to February 28.
