Global financial technology solutions and services provider 3i Infotech has entered into a joint venture (JV) with three Nigerian companies to launch a shared services centre.
According to an official statement, 3i Infotech had tied up with Soft Solutions, Skye Bank and Unity Bank to launch Process Central, a business process outsourcing (BPO) centre in Nigeria. The company's operations cover the Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS countries.
The statement said the centre would be launched in two phases in Lagos and Abuja with operations starting in four to six months. In the phase one, the key retail process of Skye Bank and Unity Bank would be centralised making the optimum use of resources and increasing back office efficiency across 500 plus branches in Nigeria.
This, according to the company, will be achieved through process centralisation and standardisation leading to benefits such as reduced operational costs, faster turnaround time, guaranteed service levels enabling banks to focus on increasing revenue among others.
The same benefits would be made available to customers in banking, insurance, telecom and government sectors in the second phase of its implementation. As part of the business plan, the Process Central would offer a slew of facilities including account opening, loan processing, payroll processing, statement printing, cheque clearing.
The company said customers would benefit greatly from the centre.
