HCL Technologies, the Indian IT giant with an annual revenue of more than $5 billion (Dh18bn), is establishing its regional headquarters in Dubai, a senior company official told Emirates Business.

Shiv Nadar, the Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of the company, is arriving in Dubai today to inaugurate the office. He will be meeting the Executive Director of Dubai Internet City Malek Sultan Al Malek and other federal and commercial business partners, said the firm's Vice-President (Middle East), Manish Mishra.

HCL wants to tap into the expected "double digit growth" of the IT sector in the region for the next two years. The company plans "heavy" investments in the region to penetrate deeper into the markets, Mishra said.
