High definition products are driving technology demand across the Middle East, with 60 to 70 per cent of homes in the region now having access to multi-channel TV, according to Bharatbook.com, a business information services provider.

"The dynamism and potential for growth of the local and regional markets for high definition remains high," said Helal Saeed Al Marri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

About 25 per cent of the region's large direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV industry is headquartered in the UAE, said Bharatbook.com. DWTC will host Cabsat Mena and Satellite Mena 2010, the region's leading exhibition for digital media, from March 2 until 4.

"The global media industry has changed more dramatically in the past 10 years than in the previous century," said Mousa Awad, Head of Product Marketing, Sony Professional Solutions.
