The 12th Water Technologies, Energy and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2010) will be held from March 9 to 11 under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance. Spread over an area of 15,000 sqm, the show has participants from 22 countries, including the UAE and China.

Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), said: "Wetex comes at a time when Dewa has allocated Dh6.42 billion to implement new electricity and water projects and complete current ones, as part of its strategy to enhance productivity of its network and plants."

He said 219 participating organisations and companies will display solutions in the water and energy sectors to customers and users of energy and water. "Wetex is an ideal platform to present and discuss critical issues such as power consumption rationalisation, protection of natural resources and sustainable development," he said.

International companies will display latest technologies and solutions for conserving electricity and water. A series of symposia and lectures will be held.
