Be close to everything in New York City

If there's one thing French luxury hotel chain Sofitel delivers consistently, it is location. From London and Paris to New York and Buenos Aires, each time you take your ride from the airport to a Sofitel, you find yourself in the heart of these historic metros. Not surprisingly, your drive to Sofitel New York takes you straight to the world's most expensive street–Fifth Avenue–breaks a left and stops.

This midtown hotel is so close to everything that makes Manhattan, well Manhattan. Times Square, Broadway, the New York Library, St Patrick's Cathedral, top restaurants, museums, commercial addresses and all the high-end retail you can possibly afford, you'll find most of it within 400 metres.

The 30-storey hotel carries the chain's signature aesthetic blend of contemporary design with Parisian strokes and a rather elegant, efficient lobby. Room sizes are generous, service comparable to the best and come decorated in New York and Paris motifs.

For a taste of contemporary French cuisine, its Art Deco-inspired restaurant Gaby is a treat for the senses. Some of its fusion concoctions can easily surprise seasoned palettes, but it doesn't hurt to experiment every once in a while.

Business travellers will find the eight meeting rooms that accommodate anywhere between 10 to 60 people very effective. And if it's a corporate gala that takes you to New York you'd do well to look up the 200-seater Grand Ballroom and its imposing 2.5 storey windows that flood the room with natural light.

A superior room with one queen size bed at the Sofitel New York costs Dh1,120 before taxes. For more information, visit www.sofitel.com
