First easyHotel in Dubai opens bookings

European budget hotel chain, easyHotel, has opened bookings for the first Dubai property, which is the company's first venture outside Europe.

Launching operations at per night room rate of Dh99 (for a double room), easyHotel Dubai, Jebel Ali, would start welcoming guests from August 1, the company said in a statement yesterday.

Located inside Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), the hotel is being operated by Istithmar Budget Hotels, an Istithmar World company, and is part of the budget hotel brand owned by chairman and serial entrepreneur Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou – also the founder of low-cost carrier easyJet.

"This is easyHotel's first venture outside Europe and as such represents a strategic step forward in their expansion plans. easyHotel Dubai, Jebel Ali, targets a clientele that demands exceptional value for money," Andrew Jordan, Executive Director for Development, Istithmar World, said in a statement.

The 216-room, six-storey hotel is a five-minute walk from the Jebel Ali Metro Station No42, and is within easy reach of Jebel Ali Industrial Area, Downtown Jebel Ali and Jafza South expansion zones.

EasyHotel fits in perfectly at the less expensive end of one of the world's fastest- growing travel sectors – budget hotels.
