Marriott names new VP of sales

?Marriott International has named Vladimir Dabbah as the hotel chain's vice-president of global sales for the Middle East and Africa.

Based in Dubai, Dabbah will be responsible for providing strategic sales leadership for Marriott's global sales efforts throughout the region. He will lead a team of 75 sales professionals in developing and implementing business segment sales strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives, said David Townshend, Senior Vice-President, Global Sales, Marriott.

Dabbah joined Marriott International in 1997 as a reservations sales agent at the company's reservations centre in Amman, Jordan. Since, he has moved to JW Marriott Hotel Dubai as senior sales manager, and was the director of sales and marketing at the Renaissance Dubai Hotel from 2004.

A graduate of Yarmouk University in Jordan, majoring in business administration with an emphasis in finance and banking, Dabbah also attended Davies's College, London.
