The world's first trackside hotel, The Meydan Hotel, will have its soft launch on March 4 concurring with the Dubai International Racing Carnival's Super Thursday races, it was announced yesterday.

With a total of 285 rooms and suites, The Meydan Hotel will start receiving guests from March 4, which also coincides with the post-race concert by international artiste Sting.

An official statement yesterday said nearly 95 per cent of all rooms have clear views of race tracks and the concert stage on which Sting would perform. The property has one royal suite, two presidential suites, eight meydan suites, 19 panoramic suites and 255 balcony deluxe rooms.

Abdin Nasralla, Vice-President of Hotels and Hospitality at Meydan, said: "The Meydan Hotel is the most distinctive destination at the heart of horseracing, and it is built for global travellers with discerning tastes and standards." Guests will also be able to enjoy seven restaurants and bars including a rooftop pool with a swim-up bar, lobby lounge bar and a trackview terrace, spa, gym and business centre facilities. The hotel offers promotional rates for non-race days in March.
