Georgia says economy will expand 11 per cent

Georgia's economy may expand as much as 11 per cent next year, the fastest pace since before a war with Russia in 2008, President Mikheil Saakashvili said. The Georgian leader also raised his forecast for 2010 growth to five per cent from three per cent. The government estimates that the $12.8 billion (Dh47bn) economy contracted as much as four per cent in 2009.
