The Abu Dhabi Executive Council (ADEC) held a meeting yesterday presided over by its chairman, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The council reviewed a number of issues and projects referred to it by local departments and agencies, aimed at improving the performance of Abu Dhabi Government. The council approved the 2009 budget of the Finance Department, which is looking forward for the approval before the beginning of the fiscal year to enable government departments and institutions embark upon the execution of their programmes.
The council also approved a memorandum from the Khalifa Fund for the Development of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises to increase funding.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed also met with the South Korean Parliament Speaker, Kim Hyong-o and Australian Governor-General Quentin Bryce.
