DIC certifies Dh180m Dofreeze bakery plant

Dofreeze, industrial manufacturers of long shelf-life baked and packaged products in the Middle East, has been issued the start-up certificate for its Dh180 million facility in Dubai Industrial City's (DIC) Food and Beverage Zone.

Located on a 500,000 square foot plot, the facility has five fully-automated production lines, making products such as Swiss rolls, layer cakes, muffins, cupcakes, pound cakes and a range of frozen pastries and croissants.

The products are currently being exported to over 35 countries including those in the Middle East, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the US, Pakistan, India, Morocco and Libya.

Rashid Al Ansari, Vice-President, DIC, said: "We congratulate Dofreeze on the commencement of operations at their facility within the township which feeds into our vision of creating an ideal environment for the manufacturing sector to prosper locally and regionally.

Dofreeze has also invested in frozen bakery for industry-scale manufacturing and is producing world-class frozen products for the hospitality and bake-off sector.

The start-up certificate was issued after an inspection by Maqayees, DIC's governance arm, which included a preliminary site audit. The facility, where all five lines are now in operation, is Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point certified.
