Goldman chief confident of global recovery

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs Group Lloyd Blankfein expressed his confidence in the recovery of the global economy and the future prospects of dynamic economies such as Dubai.

He also emphasised the need for taking advantage from the experiences of this unprecedented financial crisis so as to emerge stronger and better in future, according to a press release by Emirates NBD bank.

Blankfein was speaking during a lunch cruise hosted here yesterday by Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman, Emirates NBD. Blankfein also visited Dewa.

Al Tayer, welcomed Blankfein to Dubai and thanked him for Goldman Sach's continued interest and commitment to the UAE and the region, which continues to be one of the most-attractive emerging markets. Al Tayer stressed on Dubai's position as the leading business and financial hub and reaffirmed its potential to continue attracting investments.

Among others present at the event were dignitaries and senior members of the UAE's banking and financial community.
