Thai economy set for 3.5% growth

Thailand's economy is expected to grow in a range of three per cent to 3.5 per cent this year, boosted by government spending and a recovery in domestic consumption, Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij said yesterday. "This year's growth would be driven by budget disbursements following the government's planned stimulus package. If we can use our tools effectively, we will surely have money injected into the economy,' he said during a seminar.
