UAE consumer spending down 20%

Consumers in the UAE tightened their purses by about 20 per cent in the face of a difficult economic first half of the year, show results from our exclusive survey.

Job losses, salary cuts and incentives being frozen, all resulted in retailers having to contend with a substantial drop in sales.
