UAE-Turkey bilateral trade growing fast

Turkey is fast becoming one of the UAE's top trade partner as opportunities and interest in investment accelerate in both the countries.

Addressing an event marking the launch of the Turkish Business Council Abu Dhabi, Turkey's Ambassador Hakki Akil said the trade relations have been growing in the past with a record two-way volume of $9 billion (Dh33bn) last year.

"We have been seeing great strides in all relations between the two countries. Trade particularly has been witnessing tremendous growth with the number of Turkish firms operating in UAE increasing over the years," Akil told an audience of Turkish and UAE businessmen. However, he did not provided any figures for 2007.
