Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Western forces alone cannot defeat the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan.

Harper also said in an interview aired on CNN on Sunday that the United States must come up with a viable exit strategy before asking other countries to do more.

The Obama administration is reviewing the war strategy in Afghanistan. President Barack Obama declined to ask Canada to do more in Afghanistan when he visited Ottawa last month.
