Education Ministry website hit by hackers

The Ministry of Education yesterday detected a fraud attempt on its website believed to have been conducted by hackers. It said “unknown elements” copied its website to make contact with applicants, particularly in the fields of employment.

They issued what seemed to be authenticated employment forms to applicants, bearing forged signature of UAE Minister of Education Dr Hanif Hassan.

Hanif said in a statement the ministry was surprised when a teacher came to the ministry requesting to complete employment procedures with a fake signature of the minister in her form.

The victim completed her initial employment procedures online. Based on her account, the technicians at the ministry found out the website has been copied and trade marks added to it. (Wam)
