Mohammed leads strategy review

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday chaired the extraordinary cabinet meeting held at Jabal Al Dhana in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.

 

The two-day meeting will review strategic plans of 26 federal bodies, developed as part of the overall federal government strategy.

 

Sheikh Mohammed reviewed in yesterday’s session the summaries of plans submitted by the Central Bank, General Pensions and Social Security Authority, National Media Council, General Authority of Youth & Sport, Red Crescent Authority and General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Awqaf.

 

The summaries contain overviews of the strategic plans prepared in line with the federal plan’s objectives of improving performance, enhancing service delivery and career development.

 

Sheikh Mohammed expressed satisfaction about the enthusiasm shown by the different entities and by the fact they all met the deadline for submitting their plans. He stressed the need to implement programmes and initiatives according to schedules.

 

Sheikh Mohammed urged all federal bodies to work with each other to achieve harmony and efficiency, necessary to fulfill the UAE people’s aspirations for transparency and creativeness. The final session of the meeting will be held today to approve the submitted plans ahead of their implementation in early 2008. (WAM)
