African national arrested on forgery charges

An African national has been arrested on charges of fraud and forgery, said the police.

The African, DT, was arrested after he allegedly sold a "magic" machine for €50,000 (Dh262,628), said Colonel Ali Saeed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department at Abu Dhabi Police. DT marketed the machine telling the buyer that it would print 500-euro notes, said the official.

DT offered the alleged "magic" machine to a detective, who was assigned to arrest him. He said the case, which occurred on August 19, is the latest in electronic fraud in the country.
