Dubai refutes British media report about Beckham offer

The Government of Dubai Media Office has denied a British newspaper’s claim that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, had made an offer to the designer Victoria Beckham to help design a luxury hotel in the emirate.

The Office said the report carried by the The Daily Mirror on Tuesday, claiming Sheikh Mohammed personally wrote to ask Beckham to design the project was baseless.

The Managing Director of the Office, Ahmed Abdullah Al Shaikh, urged the media to validate and ensure accuracy of news before publishing and to avoid untrue and misleading stories in order not to face legal action.
