Dubai to host global defence forum in April
Hundreds of ministers, senior security officials and military delegates will converge on Dubai in April for the UAE's first defence conference to focus on the fight against terrorism and attacks against oil and vital facilities, organisers said yesterday.
The UAE Ministry of Defence is sponsoring the inaugural Advanced Defence and Security Technology summit that will bring together government representatives from such major industrial powers as the US, Britain, France, Russia, China, India, and Brazil along with private sector delegates and defence firms.
The April 27-28 conference will be held annually and will cover a wide range of topics including terrorism, oilfield protection, border security, and the US military presence in the Gulf.
