Dubai to host global forum
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will sponsor the Global Education Forum (GEF) and the Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions (Gess) to be held in Dubai on March 10 and 12.
The forum, which will take place in the UAE for the second time in a row, is aimed at achieving successful social and economic development, said Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education. "Progress in education should coincide with the evident progress already made on the economic and social fields," he said.
Hassan said the initiatives and visions of Sheikh Mohammed in education accentuate the importance of investing in human capital to ensure that every single individual in society receives the highest level of education.
He thanked Sheikh Mohammed for his support and sponsorship of the forthcoming forum, considered as one of the biggest international educational events.
The GEF will be attended by ministers of education from the GCC and other Arab countries. educationalists, experts and reputed companies specialised in educational technology solutions will also take part in the forum. Twenty-eight research papers will be presented at the GEF and 35 renowned speakers will share their experience with the participants at the forum.
Hassan said the GEF and the parallel Gess were successes in their first round last year, with 100 educational organisations and companies from 15 countries participating.
