Dubai to host IBA conference next year

International Bar Association (IBA) will hold its annual conference for the first time in Dubai in October next year.

This is also the first time IBA is having a conference in the Middle East, top IBA officials said.

"Dubai was chosen to host the conference for a number of reasons. Most importantly, it has established itself as a leading financial and commercial centre in the region. The conference will be the largest platform for networking for lawyers and legal firms. It is a major decision of IBA to hold its annual conference in Dubai and this is going to be an extremely important conference for the UAE and the whole Middle East region," Dr Fernando Pelaez-Pier, President, IBA, told Emirates Business.

"Major global corporations and law firms have set up offices in Dubai, which has proven itself despite challenges," Mark Ellis, IBA's Executive Director, said.
