A Syrian journalist working for Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has been released by the Iranian authorities.

This was announced yesterday by Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Director-General of the Dubai Government Media Office and Media Escort to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

He said that the release happened following a series of intensive communications over the past few days with officials in Iran, especially the Department of Foreign Press and Media of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Reda Al Basha, 27, was reported missing on December 28. He had been working for DMI News Office in Tehran since one year. Reda was not on assignment at the time he was reported missing, according to the statement.
