Eight women win award for professional achievements

Eight women with distinguished professional achievements were singled out at the Emirates Business Women Award (EBWA) 2008 in Dubai.

Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum handed out the awards at a gala dinner held at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. He also gave special recognition to Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, for her selfless dedication and contribution to the development of women.

Garnering the top EBWA 2008 award during the ceremony was Maryam Sharaf, the Overall EBWA professional category winner.

"Dubai Quality Group is pleased to witness yet another successful cycle of the award. This initiative has the power to influence women to be more involved in the economic affairs of the country," said Marwan Al Sawaleh, Chairman, DQG.
