Ex-minister charged with breach of trust

The charge against former minister, KF, has been changed to breach of trust by the Dubai Court of Cassation.

The public prosecution had accused him of fraud and embezzlement after he took over a company on the death of his partner, Hassan Jamal.

Jamal's sister, businesswoman Maisoun Fahmi Jamal, filed the case against KF. During an earlier session, the court accepted appeals from the public prosecution and Jamal, opposing the acquittal of KF.

The prosecution, Jamal and the defence were told to make their presentations in response to the new charge, which is set out in Article 404 of the federal penal law.

KF and two other defendants, SH and FM, attended yesterday's session with their lawyers, Sameer Jaafar and Hussein Al Jazeri. Jamal also attended with her lawyer, Issam Al Tamemi. The case was adjourned until February 22.
