The Arab Economic Conference is set to adopt a number of the draft resolutions on infrastructure, human resources management and Arab food security.
The draft resolutions include: The Arab power link projects, plans to connect the Arab world through railways network.
The conference will discuss an emergency programme of Arab food security, Arab Custom Union, Arab Water Security, full employment programme, reduction of unemployment, curb of poverty, implementation of the Millennium Developmental Goals, development of education in the Arab world and improvement of the healthcare.
Participants at the Economic and Social Forum also reiterated the need for speeding up linking of the Arab countries with power and gas projects to serve the objectives of comprehensive development.
The deliberations at the fourth session last night underscored adoption of practical steps to boost co-operation and Arab integration in this respect.
Former Opec Secretary General Adnan Shihabuddin said the world financial crisis has cast shadow on the world investments and led oil prices to drop, adding that the Opec initiative to intervene to create balance between demand and supply was important.
He called for speeding up execution of the power projects among the Arab countries."
