Minister of Foreign Trade Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi yesterday met with Rashid Mohamed Rashid, Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry, on the sidelines of World Economic Forum on the Middle East held in Sharm El Sheikh.
Sheikha Lubna also held talks with European Union Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson to discuss issues of joint concern.
She participated in the forum, which started on Sunday, to detail the economic development the UAE has reached in terms of growth and increase in internal and external investments.
The minister discussed with Mandelson developments in the negotiations between Gulf Cooperation Council and European Union on the signing of a Free Trade Agreement and Duty Free Zone pact.
The meeting with Rashid discussed economic relations between the UAE and Egypt, which share close ties, and consolidation of investment co-operation. (Wam)
