Man denies misconduct

A man charged with four counts of sexual misconduct, including indulging in homosexual acts and insulting the Quran, denied all charges yesterday at Dubai Criminal Court.

Dubai Police had arrested the defendant, a British national identified only by his first name of Hamdan, on July 20 at Dubai International Airport as he was leaving for London in the company of another person. According to federal penal law, he faces up to six years in jail and a fine of Dh15,000.

Another person, MH, who allegedly had homosexual relations with the accused, is being tried for sodomy at the Dubai Court of Misdemeanours.
