A nightclub manager brought a dancer to Dubai from India and forced her into prostitution, Dubai Criminal Court heard yesterday.

And an accomplice, Indian SD, 29, took the woman to the homes of the men she had sex with. The manager, Indian SJ, 31, and SD attended yesterday's hearing. Both denied human trafficking.

The alleged victim testified that she was brought from her home country to work as a prostitute with customers of different nationalities.

She said that on the day SJ was arrested he had ordered her to have sex with a man. When she refused he threatened to hold her in a villa and force her to pay the money spent when she was brought over from India. And she said SD used to take her to the homes of clients.

Defence lawyer Amal Al Sebaei asked for time to look into the case, which was adjourned until February 3.
