Mohammed sets up Dubai Media Office
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has decreed the setting up of Dubai Government Media Office, which will be annexed to the Dubai Ruler's Court.
It is part of efforts to enhance channels of communications with the local, Arab and global media and mobilise resources to deliver the Dubai message via a clear, objective and effective style at par with the highest standards.
Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Media Escort to Sheikh Mohammed, has been appointed Director-General of Dubai Government Media Office.
Dubai Press Club, Falcon and Associates, and Dubai Media Affairs Office (Dubai Brand) will come under Dubai Government Media Office to ensure highest levels of co-ordination. The aim is to provide accurate news and information regarding the Ruler and the Government of Dubai, ensuring delivery of facts without ambiguity.
The mission will include co-ordination with government departments to provide media with news on Sheikh Mohammed's and Government of Dubai activities, organising press conferences of the Ruler and the Government, coordinating with media to attend briefings and interviews with the Ruler, Crown Prince, and senior officials and monitor impact, feedback and public opinion.
The office will monitor and analyse what is published by local, Arab and global media about Dubai. It will also monitor news and analyses on activities of the government and its officials and compile brief reports and present them to the Ruler's Court.
