One dead in Global Village pavilion collapse

Global Village remained closed yesterday due to bad weather conditions.

Saeed Ali bin Redha, CEO, Global Village, said: "Due to bad weather, on Saturday evening part of the Indian pavilion entrance fell. As a result, 14 people were taken to hospital, where one of the injured died. The GV management extends its condolences to the deceased's family and its sympathies to the injured and their families, and remains available to assist them.

"Global Village management is working closely with Dubai police and authorities concerned to assist them in investigations," he added.
