A e-university – the first of its kind in the Arab world – has been launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
"The Hamdan bin Mohammed e-university is to play a major role in the education and development of students as well as to the regional economies," said Vice-Chancellor Mansoor Al Awar.
"The university will provide programmes though a mix of face-to-face and online learning. It will complement the e-Total Quality Management College, which in six years has achieved many objectives," he said. The new university comprises four main colleges covering quality and management, e-education, health and environmental studies and continuing studies.
