His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday issued an executive order confirming Hussein Nasser Lootah as Director-General of Dubai Municipality.
Lootah has held the director-general's post on a temporary basis and his confirmation comes against the backdrop of his incessant efforts to improve the quality of municipal services.
Also, Sheikh Mohammed visited Dubai Municipality where he reviewed a number of projects related to services and entertainment. He expressed his pleasure at the concerted efforts being made by the UAE national cadres at the civic body to develop the country.
These major projects are included in the parcel of the civic body's special strategy to develop Dubai city.
Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on components and objectives of the projects. Also present on the occasion were Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi and other officials.
Lootah said one of the new projects, the Holy Quran Garden, will be a cultural, educational and tourist attraction that will stretch over 65 hectares.
